The Padma Purana account (via Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham) assigns the twelve-faced bead to the Dvadasha Adityas — the twelve forms of the sun god Surya — ruled by the Sun itself. Independent astrology and rudraksha reference charts consistently repeat this Surya–Sun pairing. Described here as tradition, not as a guaranteed effect.
